Zoey Wonders Why and The Great Catastrophe
This book, the first title in the series “The Real Lives of Adam and Eve”, covers the time from their births up until the time of their banishment from the Garden of Eden. It is divided into two chapters, the first covering all the events from birth until entry into the Garden at the age of 20, and the second covering all the events that happened during the 7 years they lived in the Garden – including, of course, their temptation and fall from grace.
Robin’s Review
My granddaughter absolutely loved this book! She’s just starting to get into “big girl” chapter books, and Zoey quickly became one of her favorite characters. We read this one together, and it was such a sweet experience filled with laughs, a few emotional moments, and a lot of talk about food (we were both starving by chapter five).
Zoey’s story feels real and heartfelt. She faces tough situations like friends being unkind and her family going through a hard time but handles them with bravery, humor, and curiosity. It’s a beautiful reminder for kids that even when life changes in ways you don’t expect, you can still find strength, kindness, and hope.
The recipes and puzzles at the end were a big hit too. We even tried one of the dishes together, which made reading it that much more fun. The illustrations by Tasya Nabiella are colorful and warm, adding an extra spark to Zoey’s world.
