The Amazing Adventures of PickleDuck
On the distant planet of Zeta, magic sparkles quietly beneath the canopy of endless forests. Young PickleDuck lives a joyful life in the peaceful Treehouse Kingdom, surrounded by friends, family, and the wonders of nature. But that peace is shattered when the dreaded 100th Banana Confliction erupts into full war.
The cunning Beak Kingdom launches a secret attack, releasing a mysterious napping powder that traps citizens—including PickleDuck’s beloved mother—in an enchanted slumber. With their homes under threat and time running out, PickleDuck and a brave band of friends set out on an epic quest to save their mother and the entire Treehouse Kingdom.
Robin’s Review
This book is pure joy wrapped in feathers and fruit. PickleDuck’s story is equal parts adorable, exciting, and surprisingly deep. On the planet Zeta—where Fruit people and animal Euks coexist—our optimistic green-feathered hero faces war, friendship tests, and identity struggles with a smile and an open heart.
PickleDuck and their friends—martial-artist Fife, brave Flower, and scrappy Iggins—are the kind of crew you instantly root for. Between wild battles, mysterious sleeping spells, and the occasional banana-fueled disaster, the story moves fast but still makes time for big emotions and meaningful lessons.
What makes it shine is how naturally it weaves in themes of being different and finding your place without ever feeling heavy-handed. The non-binary hero representation is handled beautifully, making PickleDuck a standout character in middle-grade fantasy.
Sure, there are a few typos and a couple of world details I’d love to know more about (looking at you, Peach Fuzz), but none of that takes away from how much heart this story has.
Final Thoughts:
A charming, action-packed, and inclusive adventure that deserves a spot on every young reader’s shelf. If you love magical worlds, quirky humor, and brave little heroes who teach you something about kindness, The Amazing Adventures of PickleDuck is your next feel-good favorite.
Perfect for readers who love:
Whimsical fantasy adventures
Talking animals and magical worlds
Friendship stories with real heart
Fans of Adventure Time or The Owl House
