Evade the Complete Series

Evil has tipped the scales to Hell’s favor…

On what should be a triumphant day for Detective Lindsey Korrey, celebrating the resolution of her most challenging case, The Nurse Catcher, she finds herself thrust into a harrowing police car chase.

In her charge is Rory, a child missing for three agonizing years, and now the target of a relentless pursuit. Someone—or something—will stop at nothing to reclaim him.

Robin’s Review

What Did I Just Walk Into?

Imagine The X-Files took a shot of espresso and crashed headfirst into Seven. Then toss in a detective who can’t catch a break, a missing child who may or may not be entirely human, and a supernatural chase that never hits the brakes. That’s EVADE.

Here’s What Slapped:

Lindsey Korrey is the definition of grit under pressure. One minute she’s closing the book on a serial killer case, the next she’s in a runaway police car with a child that Hell itself seems desperate to reclaim. The pacing is pure adrenaline. Derek Barton doesn’t give you time to breathe before the next twist sucker-punches you. The Seekers are creepy as hell. The tension is palpable. The writing is sharp, cinematic, and emotionally charged. Barton’s knack for blending procedural realism with eerie supernatural elements keeps the story grounded while still crawling under your skin.

It’s rare for a novella series to hit this hard, but EVADE proves that horror doesn’t need 500 pages to ruin your sleep schedule. The atmosphere is relentless, the mystery tight, and the ending leaves you muttering “what just happened” in the best possible way.

What Could’ve Been Better:

Only that it ended. You’ll finish this one wanting to sprint straight into Elude and Escape.

Perfect for Readers Who Love:

Supernatural thrillers with police procedural grit

Fast-paced, high-stakes horror that doesn’t let up

Characters who feel human even when facing the inhuman

Stories that blend tension, mystery, and full-throttle fear
